First and foremost, as today is Christmas eve, I wish all of you a very merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy it with friends, family, loved ones, and I hope you enjoy it in the true spirit of christmas that teaches us there is foregiveness for all our flaws and insecurities.

I hope each and every one of you finds the strength to forgive yourself, to like, love and adore yourself. Because only if you achieve that can you truly love another. Have a ball, and BE CHRISTMAS itself!

BAH, HUMBUG!

Now back to the regular program: as all of you can see I have been tweaking my blog. All essential information is now at the top. Followed by the blog entry for the day.; every funny, exciting, crappy or gut wrenching detail I wish to share with you. Below that will be my daily food intake. I know there are some who could not care less what I eat, but are interested in how I am doing and feeling. And so I have moved that up, and the dietary details down.

I have not been blogging much, mainly because my dietary intake is messy, my days were extremely busy, and I just could not get the motivation going to write. Diet wise it has all been about damage control And I am not doing too bad. I have a new scale (YES I ACTUALLY ALLOWED MYSELF TO BUY ONE!). And as I did not have time to weigh myself last week, for convenience sake I will stick to what my own scales says. I intend to weigh myself only in the evenings, as that is my regular weighing moment for Weight Watchers. Yesterday evening the scales told me I weighed 295.1 lbs.

What has been going very well is my excercising. Yesterday I enjoyed a bicycle ride clear accross town to pick up a bottle of perfume I had ordered about 4 months ago. This shop is actually 5 minutes walk from my work, but I just could not find the time to pick it up. There was always a reason! So I cycled overthere, about 35 minutes of leisurely cycling. I went to the movies in the city, as in Bee Movie and I am Legend (The first funny and worth seeing, the second intense and a MUST. Will Smith has blossomed into a grand actor I must say). Then I cycled back home, going for a mug of tea on the way at Margreet's house. In short a very active day.

The day before I started to feel guilt about not even getting out of the house. *grins* Yes it has come to that, I miss going outside! So at 09:45 PM I dressed for a blizzard, double T shirt, double training pants, double winter scarf, coat and thermo gloves to find out it was not cold at all! *grins* By then I was already outside, so I undid one scarf, stuffed my gloves in my pocket and walked for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. On the way I enjoyed all the Christmas decorations, and decided to make photographs (yay for my cell phone) and share them with you all as a sort of photographic travel blog.

HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!

1. 2.
A quiet house, a welcome door and lots of lights

3.
I pass this shop on my walks, it always makes me silent reminding me a moment of how fragile life is . On this particular day, there was so much joy and peace in me, I just smile and thought with deep affection about my deceased mother.

4. 5.
Window decoration, with bows and ribbons, lights and tinsel, even a glimps at some Christmas tree in all its illuminated splendor

6.
This window display is not blue, just the light refraction of my camera made it thatw ay, but it does look NICE. Has an icy feeling too it, very wintery!

7.
8.
These two I would call stylish and elegant. And again with the light refraction so different in the two, a completely different "feel" to them. I think I like the blue one best of all, thought the red one is extremely inviting: makes me think of hot chocolate and cookies!

9.
A simple star, quiet, a silent reminder of Christmas.

10. 11.
Again the left traditional, with small candles in the windowsill. The right less traditional, two illuminated branches, and I kept seeing more and more of this kind, sort of a trend setting?.
(I like the bike too, the tyred reflecting my flash light!)

12.
A traditional tree in all its splendor

13. 14.
Another tree, large robust, proud to be on display. And a balcon, very bright, very loud, and it made me wonder if these people needed any light indoors?

15.
On my own street, illuminated abundance, celebrating the Christmas season.

17.
These arched set of electric candles are the most common kind of christmas window illumination in my country. There was a time, abut 20 years ago EVERY ONE had them. And you know what? I think they still look nice!

18.
The final One.
Up the stairs, a peek into my livingroom. The angel on the brocante cabinet, the photograph of my mother, and in the back my christmas tree. I like it!

Leave me a comment tell me which one you liked best? PLEASE???

I rather liked your first picture. It brought to mind a trip I made to Santa Fe, New Mexico just after Christmas one year and all the decorations were still up. It was absolutely beautiful - breathtaking in their simplicity. I'll have to take a cue from you and do a walkabout in my neighborhood. There is one house that looks so festive - amazing that someone can create that with lights.

I haven't been writing on my food blog much - more stuff on my regular blog (http://sayresmiles.blogspot.com) if you are so inclined.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Willow!

Voor mij altijd blauw, dus no 7.

groet
wallie
