It's official, the whole flippin planet is on a diet!

But remember you and you and you, points at all fellow diet bloggers, and me were there first! WE ARE THE GENUINE THING! Yesterday I weighed myself in the evening and the extent of the damage sort of sunk in. Man oh man, it will take me a month to get back to where I was. *grins* My chairman even noticed I had gained weight, my clothes noticed I gained weight, heck I noticed I gained weight!

The up side to this is that it genuinely motivates me to keep going! And that is worth a party anyways! So I am setting myslf new goals as the Christmas ones have not been met, well not entirely.

New goals - 1 year mark (May 3 2008)

New goal date is the one year mark. I want to go below 120 kg, which is 264 lbs. by May 3, 2008. This means I have to lose 46 lbs in 18 weeks, aka 2.5 lbs per week. I know I know a very challenging task, but so far I have been losing more than 3 lbs a week, so it IS possible!

The weight of weighing
The dutch comment of a friend yesterday warned about excess home weighing, and she is right. So from now on I will weigh myself, in principle, only once a week at home, on saturday evening 8ish PM. This is half way through my week and will sort of halt me should things go wrong. This means I will move the scales from the livingroom to a place where I do not walk past them every day.

Changed work schedule
yesterday was just too cold to walk outdoors in the evening, and with my changed work schedule, I work 4 days of 9 hours and alternate fridays a whole day or a half day off, I was just too tired and it got to be too late!

My easy going 3 hour morning start up has been reduced to only 1.5 hour start up, and things are a bit rushed. You know, I am not really a morning person, I need my time to get in gear!

I love the way you just pick yourself up and move on. I know I have gained over the holidays, but am too scared to jump on the scale. :(

I've seen a few bloggers beating themselves up about the gain this past couple of weeks, but they are all people who started the healthier eating in 2007, so this was their first xmas.

This is my 3rd and I've put on about 8 pounds this past month.

But you have to factor in the damage of Christmas to the overall year.

As someone once said, it's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year that affects your weight, somuch as what you eat between New Year and Christmas.
