An upward struggle, but getting somewhere. Because in the midst gaining some weight and nasty family matters I find I am aware that I AM an emotional eater and try to contain it. Additionally I have also grasped by now.....*laughs* after the odd 8 months........ that when I am tired I tend to console myself with food.

In part I feel this is because it is easier to buy some chocolates and wipped cream, or donuts and milk, or crisps and dip, as no great amount of work is involved in preparing and eating. Just rip open the package and EAT! But also because sweets stuff foremost quenches the diabolical need for bloodsugar. Very probably my bs levels are at an all time low by then, not taking enough time to eat and replenish them to a normal level, they drop and drop and drop, making me tired and sugar crazed!

Today I did not give in. eof walking into the shop and realizing it would be next to impossible to withstand all the sweet stuff, I went home and worked with what I had in the fridge and cupboards. And I had a stir fry with brown rice, fish and vegetables. Now how does that sound? I was content, happy and very proud of myself!

Goal 4: 1st centennial - loose 100 lbs/45 kg


Today, weighing day, and I managed to get rid of 4.4 lbs/2 Kg! It was not an easy week, I still had more chocolate than I should. But I managed to give it a proper place.

I have been rethinking the format for my blog, and almost decided to no longer write down what I eat a day, figuring it was not really handy for anyone else. But I just know that is NOT a smart idea. I have not written many days during the december month and it has taken me well up to 8 weeks to contain the damage - worth something like 20 lbs/8 KG.

Next week provided I lose 2,2lbs/1.1 KG, all is as it was on 14 november 2007. And from then on it is all hands on deck and battlestations. Willow is on a war path fighting bad eating habits, and unhealthy food.

Today I did something very brave. I have always stated "I will not have an operation to correct my stomach and belly". Today I phoned my health insurance company to ask if these costs are covered by my health insurance.

Appearantly, if I go to my GP, who then sends me to a specialist, who writes the request, includes a photograph, AND my BMI is below 30 - as in less than 95 KG/209.4 lbs, they will take it into consideration. AND as I KNOW that I will get there, I now also know what is possible.

It means losing another 86 lbs, and I have lost 85.7 already! See, it can be done!

I will do some more research into this kind of operation. Any one with information, feel free to comment. I would LOVE to hear, the good, the bad, the pretty AND the ugly.

One point less!!

The new weightwatcher's system has robbed me of one point! As of today I only have 27 points, But I must admit the weightwatcher's assistant is a lot of fun! There is no excuse for not writing your daily intake of food. That is if you have access to the internet.

Aerobics day

I was about ready to smother my aerobics teacher, she is enthousiastic, and I hate not being able to follow her moves. She is quick and the ladies around me have all been there for decades, so they know her moves, and the steps.

Me, I just blunder along, and try to do the best I can. I was really ready to walk out, but kept focusing on the need for excercise like that. In the end I was happy I stayed, and will try to focus a little more next week. Having my period and running around did not help much, tummy aches and all. But I intend to keep doing it, because in a way it is fun too.

Weighing days has been and gone, and I lost 3.3 lbs!!

Yesterday was a rubbish day, so by rights I should not be too happy. BUT all in all I am still struggling to get back on track. A friend of mine with a very sharp and analytical mind read my blog and indicates that I eat too little carbs, and there is to long a period between meals. As a reaction I start eating sweet things as my bloodsugar levels plummet.

Her advice is to eat some carbs in bewteen meals, small amounts, and as such keep my body happy and keep the cravings for sweets and food in control. Sound advice and of course something I KNOW. But after christmas am failing to apply!

Yesterday WW launches a new approach to the flex point system. Basically some food groups are now unlimited; meaning there is a fixed number of points designated to unlimited amounts of food. Be it though that I should eat till I am satisfied, NOT bloated. It applies to rice, potatoes, breakfast cereals (unsugared), lean meat, lean fish, shell fish, 0% curd and yoghurt.

It requires a slight change in thinking, because when have I eaten enough, and when am I stuffing myself. I need to eat slower to start withas the point of "enough" is only evident after 20 minutes. It will be interesting and scary to see how this will all work, and interesting week ahead. Where I am further seeking to regain control and apply a new system.

Normalcy resumes

Slowly I feel like I am regaining control. It is still a hard fight, but I believe I can get there. Today was still another chocolate day, but I did not go to excesses. I am very curious about the upcoming wednesday, because I feel like I am losing weight. Additionally I will start my period too. So I am retaining water (and other stuff -grins-) and still feel like I am losing weight!

CANDY horror ends!!!

The candy in my house is finished, and some one shoot me if I get candy when I am most vunerable. Once every four weeks I go mental and could eat a whole truckload of chocolates!

It is 8 PM and I have decided to get dressed and go for a therapeutic brisk walk. 30 minutes will do me a world of good. Tomorrow I will start the day with a smoothy, break through the habit of eating my muesli....and a lot of points.

This week a new Weight Watchers programme will be launched. I think it is partly based on the Core Programme I was introduced to in Ireland. I am really curious.

Weightgain +1.5 lbs/0.7 kilo

Wel the most horrible of horrible has happened. Three weeks in a row I have gained weight. It is official, I am lost....................... and frantically to find the way again. I have gained 7.3 lbs/ 3.3 kilo net in the first month! It really really has to stop!

And I find it is easy not to write in this blog and just hide from the ugly truth. It is people who comment regularly that draw me back every time. Also the realisation that I will regain controll, and I want this story to be documented, for me, and me alone. To understand why I stumbled. And how I can avoid it. Sugar is till my biggest problem. I fail to cut it out of my healthy regime, and I have developed a nasty sweet tooth and a craving for chocolates.

Freeli guilty resulted in not eating enough today, and as you will see from the days ahead, (this day was actually recorded four days later) candy is my biggest enemy, I cannot keep my grubby fingers off it!

When I look at my daily intake I realise that the dayly muesli really may be to much of a good thing. Or I should eat haf the portions. Also if I do not drink enough water, I have serious bowel problems. All in all some serious adjustments are needed.

I had no fruit today.

This week I DID actually start aerobics as last week with a double appointment on thursday I skipped it in favor of pizza with a friend. 1 hour of high impact and low impact aerobucs, and you know I actually made it! I was sweating and mildly out of breath but I did it
